John Salmonson Joins Cultiva’s Board of Directors

Las Vegas, NV (July 19, 2016) – Cultiva LLC (cultiva.com), a provider of food-grade biofilms used in the agricultural markets, announced that agribusiness executive John Salmonson was newly elected to the company’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Salmonson is currently President and Founder of the consulting company Salmonson Ag Resources. Previously he was President and CEO of Monterey Ag Resources, an agrochemical company that he purchased in 1975 and sold in 2010 to Brandt Consolidated. In addition to his work as a consultant, he and his wife Carol have interests in farmland in Nebraska and northern California.

During his career with Monterey Ag Resources, Mr. Salmonson was very active in associations representing the fertilizer and crop protection industries. He served on the boards of the California Fertilizer Association where he was elected President in 1985 and the Western Plant Health Association where he was elected Chairman in 2001. In 2015 after 24 years, he left the California Department of Agriculture Fertilizer Advisory Board. He then chaired the AB 856 sub-committee to develop regulations and certifications for organic fertilizers. In 2001, Mr. Salmonson was appointed to the advisory board for the Cal Poly School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. In 2013 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Cal Poly Foundation and serves on the governance and investment committees. Mr. Salmonson received his degree in Agronomy from Cal Poly.
