Within our dynamic and collaborative environment, the Production Engineer will play a significant role in making our Cultiva vision and strategy a reality. Working under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Production Engineer will be responsible to produce Cultiva proprietary products in our Las Vegas Headquarters. The position will manage a team of production associates and will be involved in continuous improvement via operating efficiencies, processes and improvements to the manufacturing equipment.

Experience Required:

  • Plans and designs methods to optimize, improve, and develop a lean production process.
  • Provide design for manufacturability guidelines to drive standardization within engineering process
  • Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials.
  • Reviews existing processes and develops solutions to increase productivity or reduce costs.
  • Ensures compliance with approved production methods and quality standards.
  • Confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve development efficiency.
  • Collaborates with Formulation Chemist to understand and support the operational needs, processes, and challenges including scale up.
  • Participates in cross departmental collaboration to support conceptual planning of new equipment, development of design and layout, and equipment selection.
  • Forecast batching, raw materials and create tentative plans for possible work allocation
  • Creates SOPs and technical documents, including support to technology transfer and assistance with scale-up activities, i.e., pilot to commercial manufacturing.
  • Supports the facilities team with training and development of preventative maintenance best practices.
  • Supports a high-performance results-oriented culture and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
  • Oversees staff activity and performance including a documented, routine performance management process and development plan for each production team member.
  • Hires, trains, and develops a high performing team to deliver results. Assigns stretch goals to further train and enhance production staff development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in manufacturing/ production or engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree chemical engineering or engineering discipline (may substitute for relevant experience.)
  • Demonstrated ability to scale manufacturing rate capability
  • Preferred but not required: Agriculture industry experience
